The school zones relocating families ask about most in Guilford County

Northwest, Northern, Grimsley, Page and Southwest: what each zone covers and what homes cost inside it.

Guilford County Schools assigns students by address, so the high school zone often decides the neighborhood. These five zones account for the majority of relocation requests I receive.

Northwest Guilford

Covers northwest Greensboro, Oak Ridge and part of Summerfield. Established neighborhoods like Cardinal, Lake Jeanette and Adams Farm plus newer construction in Oak Ridge. Prices generally $350,000 to $900,000.

Northern Guilford

Summerfield, Stokesdale and northern Greensboro. Larger lots, equestrian properties and custom homes. Prices from the $400s to $1.5 million.

Grimsley

Central Greensboro including Irving Park, Fisher Park, Sunset Hills and Starmount. The in-town choice: historic homes, walkability, and the widest price spread in the county.

Page

Northeast Greensboro including Lake Jeanette's east side and the Bryan Park area. Good value relative to Northwest with quick access to Lake Townsend.

Southwest Guilford

Jamestown and north High Point. Newer subdivisions, Oak Hollow Lake, and easy access to I-74 and I-40.

Magnet options—The Early College at Guilford, STEM Early College at NC A&T and Weaver Academy—are open to students countywide by application, which lets some families choose a neighborhood for other reasons and still target a top-ranked program.
