What the Toyota battery plant means for Randolph County housing
The Liberty megasite is bringing thousands of jobs. Here's where the new workforce is buying and what it's doing to prices.
Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina sits at the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite near Liberty, roughly 25 minutes from both Greensboro and Asheboro. It is the largest single employer announcement in the region's history.
Where people are buying
Liberty, Julian and Climax in northern Randolph have seen the fastest price growth, followed by southeast Guilford (Pleasant Garden, McLeansville) and Archdale/Trinity. Asheboro remains the value play with the shortest commute from the south.
New construction
Builders have opened communities along US-421 and NC-62. Expect starter homes in the high $200s to mid $300s and larger plans in the $400s.
For investors
Rental demand near the plant has outpaced supply; single-family rentals in Liberty and Randleman are leasing quickly. The county's lower tax rate improves cap rates relative to Guilford.
