About the neighborhood

Classic small city with a revived downtown and mountain views to the south

Asheboro is Randolph County's seat and the home of the North Carolina Zoo. The city has put real effort into its downtown: Sunset Avenue now has restaurants, a theatre, breweries and the Bicentennial Park stage, and the surrounding neighborhoods of early-1900s homes have been coming back street by street.

Housing is some of the most affordable in the region — classic in-town homes, mid-century ranches and newer subdivisions on the north and west sides. It suits first-time buyers, retirees and anyone who wants the Uwharrie foothills, the zoo and Seagrove's potteries close at hand and can accept a 35-minute drive to Greensboro.
