About the neighborhood

Rural northern Guilford with wooded large-lot subdivisions, land tracts, Bryan Park and Haw River State Park

Browns Summit is the unincorporated, mostly rural area about 15 miles north of Greensboro, ZIP 27214, reaching from Lake Townsend and Bryan Park up toward the Rockingham County line. It gives move-up buyers a slower pace and more room while keeping Greensboro within an easy drive, and its outdoor anchors shape everyday life: Bryan Park's 36 holes of golf, fields and Lake Townsend access, and the Summit access at Haw River State Park with trails, a wetlands boardwalk and fishing.

The housing mix is wide. You will find wooded large-lot neighborhoods such as Bowman Meadows and the Summit Lakes communities, custom-home sites of an acre or more, land tracts for building later, and smaller resale homes at lower price points than Summerfield or Oak Ridge. Most homes outside the subdivisions are on well and septic, many neighborhoods have HOA covenants, and school assignment varies across the area — confirm all three for the specific address.
