About the neighborhood
Fast-growing town with a historic downtown, Körner's Folly and new subdivisions on every side
Kernersville is the Triad's midpoint: 20 minutes to downtown Greensboro, 20 to downtown Winston-Salem and 15 to PTI Airport, which is why it has grown faster than almost any town in the region. The historic core around Main Street and Körner's Folly — the 22-room Victorian 'strangest house in the world' — is ringed by subdivisions built from the 1990s to this year.
That mix gives buyers more choice than most towns: older homes near downtown, established neighborhoods like Abington and Kingswood, and a steady supply of new construction on the town's edges. Kernersville straddles the Forsyth/Guilford line, so school assignments can be East Forsyth, Glenn or even Guilford County depending on the address. Novant's Kernersville Medical Center and a large Walmart/Target retail corridor along US-66 round out the services.

Characteristics
Transportation
I-40 and Business 40/US-421 both pass through, and NC-66 and NC-150 cross the town, so every Triad employment center is within 20 minutes. PART regional buses connect to Greensboro and Winston-Salem. Downtown is walkable; the newer neighborhoods are car-based.
Services
The US-66 (South Main Street) corridor near I-40 has big-box and grocery shopping, and downtown Main Street has restaurants, breweries and local shops. Ivey Redmon Sports Complex, Harmon Park and the Fourth of July Park are the main recreation spots; Triad Park and Belews Lake are close.
Character
A real town with a downtown, growing quickly but holding onto its identity through events like the Spring Folly and the Honeybee Festival. Neighborhoods vary from mature and leafy near the center to brand-new on the edges, and the population is a mix of long-time locals and commuters who want to be between both cities.
